We recently had our annual International Festival, and what a great event it was! The children proudly performed songs in many languages and dances from all over the world. Then we enjoyed an amazing reception with food that parents had prepared from their home country. A wonderful event celebrating the cultural diversity that we love here at ISG. Thank you to everyone who helped make our International Festival such an enjoyable event!
On Friday 24th November we had our annual Bingo night! It was a fun school community event and fundraiser! All proceeds will go directly to purchasing outside playground equipment. Thank you to our fantastic Parent's Association for organising the event and for everyone who helped bring it all together!
We have had a great start to the school year! All the children have settled quickly into their new classes and have been very welcoming to our new pupils. IPC projects have started and everyone is eager to learn. It will surely be a fun and busy year at ISG!
On Saturday 25th March the ISG school community came together to celebrate all the nationalities, colours and flavours from around the world. Children performed dances, songs, played instruments and recited poetry. We then enjoyed amazing food prepared by the parents and the great atmosphere. Thank you to the parents and staff who helped make the event such a success.
School is out for summer, and ISG is on the move! Our amazing new school building at 258 De Pintelaan is in the finishing stages. We have packed up and we'll be moving in during the summer to start the new school year in September. We are all very excited about this next chapter for ISG!
Every class at ISG enjoys one hour of music a week with our specialised music teacher Miss Narissa. Trained in the Kodaly method Narissa's classes develop children's music literacy using songs, hand signs, pictures, rhythm symbols and syllables. Singing is the foundation of the music classes and also incorporates games, movement, playing instruments and reading and writing. All the children love music class each week!
On Sunday 22nd May we had a great turnout of ISG pupils at the Chiquita fun run in Ghent. After an aerobic warm-up all the children ran the 1km fun run and made it past the finish line to receive a medal and of course a banana! Well done to all those who participated! Check out this video of the event!
