Field Trips

Field trips are an exciting extension of classroom learning, giving children the chance to explore new environments, engage their senses, and make real-world connections. These experiences spark curiosity, build confidence, and create lasting memories that enrich their understanding of the world.

Exploring our community

Ghent is a vibrant city for our students to explore! Whether we’re visiting a museum, a local bakery, florist, or retirement home, there are plenty of things to see and do only a short distance from our school.

Our students love discovering the world around them! These visits and opportunities to explore our community help children develop a sense of belonging and awareness of their surroundings. Field trips also encourage social interaction and hands-on learning in meaningful contexts.

Learning outside the classroom

Field trips are not only related to the current subject theme, but also exciting and motivating for the students. Students enjoy regular trips outside of the classroom to museums and attractions all over Flanders. The green and nature surroundings around our campus also offer the opportunity to take learning outside of the classroom.

Broadening our horizons

Field trips provide an opportunity for students to explore beyond their own backyard and broaden their horizons. Students of all ages get to visit cities throughout Belgium, like Oostend, Antwerp, and Brussels, to take advantage of different sites to visit, as well as academic events with other international schools.

“I take this opportunity to thank you very much for the wonderful and kind treatment that my children and we have received during these four years with you.“
– Feedback from Martinez family from Spain, whose two children spent four years at ISG
