Inspiring young scientists

This week ISG + Secondary students visited VIB (Flemish Institute for Biotechnology) this week to learn more about mitosis. They explored how cells divide and observed the different stages of mitosis under microscopes.They followed a scientific protocol to make their own maize root tip slides with guidance from members of the Beeckman lab. The visit provided hands-on experience and insights into the processes that govern cell division, enhancing their understanding of their studies of genetics.
This wonderful experience brought science to life and gave inspiration to our next generation of researchers!
