Parents Association
ISG has a fantastic parent community! The aim of the Parents Association (PA) is to welcome new parents, foster a positive relationship between parents and the school, and to enable parents to get involved at ISG. We strive to have a well-informed school community where all families are welcome and all nationalities are celebrated!
Volunteer opportunities
The PA organizes all kinds of fun events and fundraisers at ISG throughout the year. It’s also an incredible resource for new parents to adjust to life in Ghent, and serves as an important partnership with the school for addressing feedback and sharing the latest developments at ISG.
Volunteering is a big part of the PA and we encourage parents to get involved – it is one of the best ways to learn how things work at ISG and also a great way to meet new people!
All PA events are listed on the School Calendar, as well as posted on flyers around the school. As each event approaches, parents will receive an e-mail with more information about how they can get involved!
Read below to find out about our favorite PA events!

Coffee & Croissants
The PA organizes regular Coffee & Croissants mornings, inviting parents to enjoy a relaxed morning getting to know other ISG families. Coffee & Croissants mornings are usually held on Thursdays, from 8:30-10:00am. Check out this year’s dates on the School Calendar, or ask about it at Reception.
Pasta Lunch
Twice a year, the PA organizes a Wednesday afternoon Pasta Lunch for parents and students! This is a much beloved fundraising event, where everybody enjoys a selection of pasta and sauces, plus homemade desserts!
Funds raised during Pasta Lunch go towards special treats for each class. Check the School Calendar for this year’s Pasta Lunch dates.

Bingo Night
An unforgettable night of Bingo! Our annual Bingo evening is always full of fun and laughter for students and families, with plenty of prizes to be won (and don’t forget the yummy hot dogs for dinner!). Funds raised during Bingo Night go towards items on the children and teachers’ wish list!
International Festival
Our International Festival is always a yearly highlight! It is a fantastic celebration of all the cultures and diversity we have at ISG. Children proudly wear their national costume, parents share homecooked food from their country, we sing, we dance and have a lovely evening!
ISG’s International Festival takes place in May and is organised by the teachers, in collaboration with the Parents Association.

Class Representatives
Each class has a designated PA class representative and each class has a Whatsapp group that parents can choose to join. This is a great way for informal get togethers or to ask questions if needed!
“ISG is multi-cultural, open-minded and inclusive and was for us our second home in Ghent. It was like being part of a lovely extended family where we could turn for advice and support.”
– Feedback from the Alifragkis family, whose son spent four years at ISG
