Year 1 – Maths fun!

Year 1s have been having a super busy first term in Maths at ISG! They kicked off the year by working on their fine motor skills to help them form their numbers correctly and beautifully. Through a variety of games and activities, they’ve also been practising how to carefully count out numbers to find totals. As the children’s independence has grown, they’ve loved being able to work on their mental arithmetic books, using their skills and knowledge to help them to solve mathematical word problems. Our number bond craft activity was a definite favourite for Year 1 and they showed that they were quick to find missing numbers when working on bonds to 7, 8, 9 and 10.
