Summer has come!

Welcome to the fantastic world of Upper Primary 1: In Blog, Final Edition!

Our last few months in UP have been action-packed, filled with a variety of activities and events that kept us constantly engaged. They've been full of fun, and each day brought new adventures, challenges, and experiences, making for unforgettable moments that we will always remember.

Graduators

Last week we said goodbye to our graduating Year 6s, and wish them all the best as they begin their middle school journeys. During our graduation ceremony they showcased their diversity by presenting something about themselves, before throwing their hats! Congratulations again Year 6!

Collaborators

This term we were visited by a bilingual school in the Netherlands, Merlin. After meeting and getting to know each other through some team building activities, we toured them around Ghent and showed them around the Gravensteen Castle. The next day we worked together to create a prototype of a fairgrounds ride or game, as part of our  ‘Fairgrounds’ IPC topic.

Roller Coaster Engineers

In the ‘Fairgrounds’ topic, we learned about the science of fairground rides and games. We dove into the world of forces and energy, and even learned how to code! To celebrate the end of this topic, Upper Primary explored what they had learned at Plopsaland, riding different types of rides to really feel the effect of the forces they had been learning about. It was truly an unforgettable experience! Back in school, we also invited the lower primary classes to try out the prototypes we had made throughout the unit and learn a bit more about the forces and energy behind them.

As this school year comes to a close, I would like to thank everyone that was a part of the Upper Primary family. You have truly made this an unforgettable year, full of laughter and growth. I wish you all a wonderful holiday, and all of the best for the coming adventures the next school year holds.

Warm regards,

Miss Kelsey
