3/06-7/06 Dinosaur week

On Monday we introduced the dinosaur role play masks and other dinosaur- group work activities. Afterwards we talked about the weekend and about what we remembered from the dinosaur museum. This lead to the spider graph hanging in the corridor. In the afternoon we read a Maya Saur factbook and we talked about father’s day coming up. We also began our father’s day presents.

On Tuesday some children did some dictation for literacy. We also made clay out of coffee ground to make our own dinosaur footprint fossil hangers.
In PE we practiced rolling, throwing and catching balls and swimming was fun, everybody is gaining confidence in the water!

On Wednesday some did a bit of literacy and everybody continued on their father’s day presents. We also read a story about dinosaurs cleaning up the rubbish on earth.

Sports day this Thursday was lots of fun; we were dancing, sliding and climbing on 2 different bouncy castles. We also found pictures in a labyrinth with slides and other surprises. I for one am exhausted!

Friday we will do some finishing touches on the father’s day presents we will work on numbers (which add to 10) and on sizes how many children fit into a given dinosaur length. Normally there will also be time for a story and some dancing.
