Respect
Respect is one of our personal goals in IPC.
Respect is important, especially when you work in a class with pupils from all over the world, who come from different school systems, have different ages and speak English on different levels.
To really understand the word respect, we talked about it at home with our parents and we shared our words for respect here at school. Our different languages are fantastic, the word "respect" looks so different in Estonian, Hebrew, Thai, Arabic, Mahrati, Spanish, Tamil and French, and all these words mean the same thing! Based on this, we now have started writing our classroom rules, what we think is important in the classroom and out on the playground. This is how we think we can show respect in different ways:
- We should think before we speak.
- We should show respect and be nice to each other.
- We should keep our hands and feet to ourselves.
- We should sit at our desks and raise our hands if we need help.
- We should listen when others are talking.
- We should do what the teacher tells us to do.
- We should work independently and take responsibility for our own work and we should cooperate when we are supposed to.

During breaktime, we practice what we learn. We share the toys that we have. We ask how someone is doing, if we see that they have hurt themselves. We are careful when we play with the bikes, so that we don't run over someone's feet or toys. We look our for each other and we try to solve problems - either ourselves or with the help from a teacher.
