Ostend is the largest city on the Belgian coast located in the Flemish province of West Flanders. During our stroll on the coastline we did a research about shells and their origins. We were also observing costal birds such as sea gulls. The wind was so strong and gusty that it even blew our bird worksheet away! We also discussed the direction of the wind. Our guide told us some unbelievable stories about a mermaid and a drunken sailor. After the tour of Mercator, a sailing vessel, we enjoyed our lunch indoors.
