All about transport

We are having lots of fun during our transport unit. We have played games, sang songs and created different vehicles. For the last two weeks we have been learning about land and air transport. The children made their own special cars from boxes. They counted how many wheels a car has and they painted a box using their favourite colour.

We have been learning a new song where we are pretending to be drivers of a car. Here is the link for the song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2meevJJPvA .The kids loved it, so you can watch the video clip with them and hear them sing. Every child shared with us one thing that they like to see through the window while sitting in a car. They had beautiful ideas such as trees, buildings, traffic lights and looking for aeroplanes in the sky.

We also learned about aeroplanes and made mini aeroplanes to play with. We have been counting from 1-10 using pictures of aeroplanes and working cooperatively to organize aeroplanes in different sizes from the smallest to the biggest. We learnt the ‘n’ sound and enjoyed making funny noses!

Harrison, who comes from the USA, wanted to tell us about thanksgiving. He brought a lovely pumpkin bar and then the children told us what they are thankful for. They had very different and very cute answers such as being thankful for the cake that Harrison brought, for having mum and dad, for having toy cars and for having a coat when it’s raining.

On Tuesday we celebrated Alyssa’s birthday. Alyssa turned 3 and was so happy to party with her friends in class. We wish her all the best and would like to thank her for the delicious cake and for the lovely book.

We had a special Dutch lesson this week where we learnt about Sinterklaas. We dressed up with traditional costumes, sang songs and made puzzles.

On Friday Sinterklaas visited ISG. It was a great way to end our week.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
