Building update!

Our new school building on De Pintelaan is looking fantastic! Floors are being laid and walls are being plastered. The original brick buildings on the site having been brought back to life and will house our school library, sports hall and office space. The new L-shaped structure sitting beside it will have Pre-Primary classes on the ground floor and Primary classes on the first floor, and will also include a large lunch room and other spaces for music and language classes. Everything is on track for us to open on September 1st. We are very excited!

The main door is situated in the corridor linking the old renovated building to the left and the new structure on the right. The concrete floors have been poured, ready for the final layer. This will be our lunch room which then connects directly to the outside play area.Inside the front door looking down the main corridor. International Festival 2016

On Saturday 12th March our school community came together for our annual International Festival, and what a great event it was! The children proudly wore costumes from their home countries, then danced and sang songs in different languages from all around the world. We then enjoyed the many flavours and colours in the delicious food prepared by all the parents. Thank-you to our fantastic Parent's Association and all of our school community for your time and effort - what a lovely celebration of the cultural diversity we have at ISG! Three types of learning

As part of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) we focus on three types of learning - Knowledge, Skills and Understanding. Knowledge refers to factual information, Skills refers to things we are able to do and Understanding is the steady incorporation of ideas and concepts. In the January newsletter from Fieldwork Education they acknowledged how at ISG we are developing these ideas with our children. Have a read here.
